Easter Sunday is a weekend, so there is no trading, and Easter Monday is a normal full session in the United States. The US market's Easter closure is Good Friday, not Monday.

What traders should know about Easter
The NYSE and Nasdaq close on Good Friday and reopen on Easter Monday at the regular 9:30 a.m. ET. That is the reverse of Europe, where London, Frankfurt, Paris and most other exchanges close on Easter Monday. US traders therefore get a Monday session with little European participation.
Easter Monday dates: April 6, 2026; March 29, 2027; April 17, 2028. The Good Friday closures are April 3, 2026; March 26, 2027; April 14, 2028.
Because Easter moves with the lunar calendar, it is the one long weekend on the exchange calendar that can fall anywhere from late March to late April, occasionally colliding with quarter-end and the first jobs report of the quarter.
